Owner Gregg Druxman and his store in St.Vital specializes in men’s oversized footwear which has become a huge hit with those who could never get the right fit or the right selection for their larger size.

 

THE PRODUCT

 

BIGFOOTZ MEN’S OVERSIZED FOOTWEAR SHOP is a retail store specializing in oversized, brand name footwear for men. By oversized, we mean really big....sizes 13 to 18 in medium and wide widths. We carry everything from running, walking, cross training, casual, dress, CSA approved work boots, western boots, Doc Martens, winter boots, sandals, slippers, security, skate shoes, cleats, hikers and more.

 

We also carry a great selection of WIGWAM socks which include Merino wool hikers, ankle socks, diabetic sport socks and walkers, dress socks, work boot socks, running and crew socks in sizes 13 to 16.

 

THE ENTREPRENEURS

 

The owners are Winnipegger Gregg Druxman and his wife, Betty Yuen. Druxman was a former owner of the Pembina Hotel and then was a sales consultant with General Motors for 6 years. Yuen is a real estate agent for RE/MAX Performance Realty.

 

THE EUREKA MOMENT

 

The idea of opening a store specializing in oversized footwear came to Druxman in a dream. Druxman and Yuen had been contemplating opening a new business for quite a while but could not come up with the right concept. It was his son Max, who has size 15 feet that served as the inspiration for the store. For years they were forced to order on-line due to the lack of sizing and selection locally. When you order on-line, you have to worry about duty, taxes, shipping and or course the exchange rate and when you get the shoes and they don't fit...you are frustrated! The whole idea of BIGFOOTZ is to touch, feel and smell the shoes then walk out healthy and happy knowing that they fit properly. 'Big Feet...Big Selection!'

 

THE TAKE-UP

 

Druxman is very pleased with the response that BIGFOOTZ has received. For the minimal amount of advertising that he has done, people are coming from all over the city, province and Canada coast to coast. Druxman prides himself on providing quality personalized one-on-one service to his customers. Young or old, there’s something for everyone. He appreciates when a customer walks in for the first time and is overwhelmed that they have ‘so much to choose’ from. Nothing makes him happier than hearing a customer take mental ownership of the store by declaring ‘this is MY store!
