Owner Gregg Druxman's store in St. Vital, which specializes in oversized footwear, has become a huge hit with those who could never get the right fit or the right selection for their larger size.

THE PRODUCT
BIGFOOTZ Oversized Sneaker Shop is a new retail store specializing in oversized, brand-name athletic and casual footwear for men and women. By oversized, we mean really big.....sizes 12 to 18 for men, and 10 plus for women. Everything from running, crosstrainers, walking, basketball, football and soccer cleats, slippers, winter and trail boots to sandals, casuals, skate shoes and steel toed CSA approved workboots.

Also carrying a fantastic selection of WIGWAM socks that come with 1 and 2 year comfort guarantees which includes Merino wool hikers, athletic ankle socks, diabetic sport socks and walkers, dress socks, tube socks, crew socks and more. Our socks come in sizing to 17.

THE ENTREPRENEURS
The owners are Winnipeger Gregg Druxman and his wife, Betty Yuen. Druxman was a former owner of the Pembina Hotel and then was a sales consultant with General Motors for 6 years. Yuen is a real estate agent for RE/MAX Performance Realty.


THE EUREKA MOMENT
The idea of opening a store specializing in oversized footwear came to Druxman in a dream. Druxman and Yuen had been contemplating opening a new business for quite a while, but could not come up with the right concept. It was his son Maxwell which sparked the idea because for years they were ordering on-line due to the lack of sizing and selection. When you order on-line, you have to worry about duty, taxes, shipping, and exchange and when you get the shoes and they don't fit...you get frustrated. The whole idea of BIGFOOTZ is to touch, feel and smell the shoes then walk out happy and healthy. 'Big Feet...Big Selection'.


THE TAKE UP
Druxman is very pleased with the response that BIGFOOTZ has recieved. For the minimal amount of advertising that he has done, people are coming from all over.  He loves to give the customers personalized service and to offer a great selection of oversized footwear. He has grown especially in the womens footwear department. Young or old, there seems to be something for everyone.
